The United States and India have announced a roadmap to enhance their collaboration on clean energy supply chains, focusing on solar, wind, battery, and high-efficiency air conditioning technologies. The initiative aims to boost manufacturing capacities in both countries and unlock $1 billion in multilateral finance to support India’s clean energy supply chain.
The plan identifies investment opportunities in clean energy segments like solar wafers and wind turbine components and involves developing pilot projects with private sectors and multilateral banks. It also seeks to build partnerships with African nations for solar and battery storage projects while leveraging U.S. and Indian policies to strengthen local manufacturing. This roadmap lays the groundwork for a long-term partnership with regular meetings and milestones.
